Painting at Shriners Hospital
This past weekend eight Daughters of the Nile from the Aromaz Dynasty Temple #163 Irondale Alabama took a road trip to Greenville Shriners Hospital to paint a mural on the wall of one of the cast rooms. It is a great feeling knowing that the children will have something fun to look at while spending time in this room. You may remember Dawn Hill- our chief cook and bottle washer from our Retreat last year, she was the artist. Maybe I can get a picture of the mural for you to see soon. We enjoy helping these children and I, personally, hope you will join us on this exciting adventure, by coming to our Crop 2 Help Retreat 2007.

This blog will benefit anyone who wants to join in on the fun of the second annual Crop 2 Help Retreat 2007. This is one of the many fund raising events we are involved in to help the children of the Shriner's hospital. Below is an explanation of who the Daughters of the Nile are.
Who Are We and What We Are All About
DAUGHTERS OF THE NILE
WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE CHILDREN
Who We Are:
Daughters of the Nile is a benevolent international fraternal organization for women of good character, eighteen (18) years of age or older, who are related by birth or marriage to a Shriner, Master Mason or a Daughter of the Nile.
Founded in 1913 in Seattle, Washington, Daughters of the Nile is comprised of 148 Temples throughout the United States and Canada, with more than 39,000 members.
The members of Daughters of the Nile are committed to supporting the important work of Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Shriners Hospitals, the official philanthropy of the Shrine of North America, is a network of 22 children’s specialty hospitals throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. There are 18 orthopaedic Shriners Hospitals, three burn hospitals, and one Shriners Hospital that provide orthopaedic, burn and spinal cord injury care. All medical care and services provided by Shriners Hospitals are totally without charge to the children and their families. To date, Shriners Hospitals has provided specialized medical care to more than 800,000 children across North America.
Shriners Hospitals have become renowned for their expertise in orthopaedic and burn care, and they maintain their position in the forefront of these specialized areas through an extensive research program. They also focus on meeting the needs of the children of tomorrow through their affiliations with some of North America’s leading medical centers and their support of medical education and training, with many residents in orthopaedic and burn care receiving some of their training at a Shriners Hospital.
The members of Daughters of the Nile are proud of this record of generosity and are dedicated to their philosophy of “working together for the children.” By continuing their unwavering support of Shriners Hospitals, Daughters of the Nile are doing their part to help children lead better lives.
